My Photography Story

People laugh when I tell them that I actually could never get into a photography class! I tried and tried through high school and especially through my college years at WSU, but since business majors (me) had to register last and arts majors could register first, I was left out in the cold...almost literally! There was even a couple times where I came back EVERY day for two weeks straight during one of my semesters to see if anyone had dropped a class so I could squeeze in...but no luck!

It wasn't until I graduated WSU in 2000 that I purchased my first camera and began to pursue my dream. With a soft investment I quickly purchased a Canon Elan 7e film camera and went to work shooting anything and everything in sight. Fortunately for me I was lucky enough to work with very talented portrait artists and with several future Associated Press photographers who were difficult to please at first. Needless to say, I was very fortunate to have had some amazing people to study from and take constructive criticism on my work (sometimes not so constructive), and for this I am grateful. Since purchasing my first Canon camera, I have thoroughly enjoyed working in a wide variety of facets among the photography world. My love for portraiture and for identifying with many types of people and trends has led to my devotion to capturing people for who they are and for creating beautiful and inspiring images.

 What do I shoot with?

Although I used to own and operate the Nikon line of camera equipment, I currently shoot all my sessions with the Canon 5D and professional L-series lenses. I shoot all throughout the greater Seattle/Bellevue area, Portland/Beaverton and Los Angeles and Las Vegas on occasion doing a variety of styles of photography as requested.
